The Lowell-Dracut-Tyngsboro State Forest is a 1,140-acre (4.6 km2) recreational preserve overlapping the three Massachusetts towns of Lowell, Dracut and Tyngsborough. The Forest is maintained by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, and overseen by the non-profit group "Friends of the Forest".[1][2]

The official main entrance is at Trotting Park Road, Lowell, MA (parking available).[3]

Permitted recreations

Motorized vehicles are prohibited except for seasonal snowmobiles.

The REZ

Often referred to as the rez, it is used for underage party spot. The most common activity at the rez is the consumption of alcoholic beverages, almost always accompanied by a campfire. It is used by the students of Tyngsborough High School. Almost always the parties are broken up by the Tyngsborough Police Department.
