Álex Marquez
Alex Márquez Alentà (born April 23, 1996 in Cervera ) is a Spanish motorcycle racer .
In 2014 he won the title in the Moto3 class and in 2019 the title in the Moto2 class of the motorcycle world championship . His older brother is eight-time motorcycle world champion Marc Márquez , with whom he will compete in the MotoGP class of the Repsol Honda team in 2020 .
Career
From 2010 to 2012, Márquez drove in the Spanish championship . With 24 points, he came eleventh in the overall ranking of the 125 cc class in 2010; 2011 runner-up behind team-mate Álex Rins and finally champion in 2012 ahead of German Luca Amato . At the same time, he made his first outings in the Moto3 class of the motorcycle world championship that year .
Moto3
In 2013 , Márquez drove his first full Moto3 World Championship season for the Estrella Galicia team . At the Indianapolis Grand Prix he was second behind winner Álex Rins for the first time on the podium, and at the Japanese Grand Prix in Motegi he won his first race. In the 2014 season he won the World Championship title in the Moto3 class on a Honda .
Moto2
Márquez has been racing in the Moto2 class since 2015 . He uses a Kalex in the Estrella Galicia 0.0 Marc VDS team. In 2015 his teammate was the 2014 World Champion Esteve Rabat . In 2016 , Márquez stayed with the team. His new teammate was the Italian Franco Morbidelli .
In the 2019 season , Márquez won the World Championship title in the Moto2 class on a Kalex in Team EG 0,0 Marc VDS .
