The Austrian soccer championship 1935/36 was organized by the WFV association and contested by its members. The two-pronged II. League served as a substructure for the I. League . These leagues were only accessible to professional football clubs . In addition, other federal state associations organized state championships in different modes on an amateur basis. The respective amateur national champions then also played a master at the amateur championship.

I. League

General

The championship in the I. League was contested with 12 teams who met each other twice during the entire season. Austrian football champion was Admira, who won her fifth championship title and qualified for the Mitropa Cup in 1936 . Also eligible to participate were the ÖFB Cup winners Austria and Vienna, who came second in the championship. Finally, a further starting place was played out among the third to fifth placed. The Vienna AC had to relegate as bottom of the table in the II. League.

General

In the II. League there was a North League and a South League in which 13 teams, who met twice during the entire season, played for promotion to the First League. The two top teams Post SV (North) and SC Austro-Fiat Wien (South) then played in the relegation for promotion to the I. League.

Women's football championship

Austrian Football Women's Championship 1935/36
1937

In the 1935/36 season, for the first time in the history of Austrian football, a women's football championship was held, which was organized by the Austrian Women's Football Union . The games all took place at the Czech Heart Square, Baumgartner Platz or Heiligenstädter Platz and always attracted several hundred spectators. The first champion was the women's soccer club DFC Austria Wien, which secured the title with a 4-0 over Tempo. The sticking point, however, was the 3-2 win in the previous round against their fiercest rivals Vindobona. The following nine teams took part in the championship:
