2011 Silverstone 6 hour race
The 2011 6 Hours of Silverstone , also known as Autosport 6 Hours of Silverstone, Silverstone Circuit , took place on September 11th at the Silverstone Circuit and was the fourth round of the Le Mans Series of this year.
The race
At the Silverstone race, Peugeot's Le Mans prototypes achieved another overall victory in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup . Following the success of the Oreca - Peugeot 908 HDi FAP of Nicolas Lapierre , Loïc Duval and Olivier Panis at the 12-hour race at Sebring , the factory won 908 , the long-distance race of Spa-Francorchamps ( Alexander Wurz , Marc Gene and Anthony Davidson ) and Imola ( Sébastien Bourdais and Davidson). Audi was only victorious in the 24-hour race at Le Mans .
The event in Silverstone was also characterized by the duel between Peugeot and Audi, which the Peugeot team Bourdais / Pagenaud won with a clear lead over the Audi R18 TDI of Timo Bernhard and Marcel Fässler .
