The District Court of Kahla was a district court of ordinary jurisdiction that existed from 1879 to 1949 and was based in the Thuringian city of Kahla .

On the occasion of the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, a district court of Kahla was established in the Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg , the district of which was created from the district of the previous court office Kahla and consequently the cities of Kahla and Orlamünde (with Naschhausen and Winzerla ) as well as the villages Altenberga , Altendorf , Ammelstädt , Beutelsdorf , Bibra , diene Städt , Dorndorf , Drößnitz (with Pfarrkeßlar ) Dürrengleina , oak Berg , Engerda , Etzelbach , Freienorla (with Pritschroda ) Geunitz , Greuda , Großbockedra , Großeutersdorf , Großkröbitz , Großpürschütz , Gumperda , Heilingen , Hummelshain , Jägerndorf , Kesslar , Kleinbockedra , Klein Bucharest (with Martinsroda ) Kleineutersdorf , Klein Kochberg , Kleinpürschütz , Kolkwitz , Kuhfraß , Langenorla , Lindig , Löbschütz , Magersdorf , Meckfeld , Mötzelbach , Neusitz , Niederkrossen , Oberbodnitz , Obergneus , Oberhasel , upper Krossen (with small Krossen ), Oelknitz , Partschefeld , Plinz , Reinstädt , R odias , Röbschütz , Röttelmisch , Rückersdorf , Saalthal , Schirnewitz , Schmieden (with Spaal ), Schmölln , Schöps , Schweinitz , Seitenbrück , Seitenroda (with Leuchtenburg ), Trockenborn (with Wolfersdorf ), Uhlstädt , Unterbodnitz , Untergneus , Zeutsch , Zimmritz , Zwabitz and Doubtbach contained.

During the judicial reform that became necessary after the formation of the state of Thuringia , the Kahla district court district was greatly reduced in size on October 1, 1923. The places Ammelstädt, Beutelsdorf, Dorndorf, Engerda, Etzelbach, Heilingen, Kleinkochberg, Kolkwitz, Kuhfraß, Mötzelbach, Neusitz, Niederkrossen, Oberhasel, Oberkrossen (with Kleinkrossen), Partschefeld, Röbschütz, Rückersdorf, Schmieden (with Spaal), Uhlstädt and Zeutsch came the district court of Rudolstadt , Groß- and Kleinbockedra, Ober- and Untergneus as well as Trockenborn (with Wolfersdorf) were assigned to the district court of Roda , Keßlar and Meckfeld went to the district court of Blankenhain , Langenorla and Schweinitz were attached to the district court district of Pößneck and Saalthal was assigned to the district court of Saalfeld . Only the towns of Kleinkröbitz, Milda, which previously belonged to the Saalfeld district court, and Wittersroda, which came from the Blankenhain district court, could be expanded. From January 1, 1924 to January 1, 1925, Oelknitz was part of the Jena district court district .

The superior instance was initially the Altenburg Regional Court , then the Rudolstadt Regional Court from October 1, 1923 to September 1, 1949, and finally the Gera Regional Court for a month .

On October 1, 1949, the Kahla District Court was repealed and its entire district was assigned to the Jena District Court .
