history

Fuhlendorf

Fuhlendorf was first mentioned in 1278 when the Rügan prince Wizlaw II confirmed the sale of the village. From 1326 Fuhlendorf belonged to the Duchy of Pomerania . After the Peace of Westphalia in 1648, Fuhlendorf belonged to Sweden . In 1815 the community came to the Prussian province of Pomerania . According to legend, the name Fuhlendorf is derived from the fact that a traveler asked a shepherd about Michaelsdorf, whereupon he only pointed his foot in the direction. A disappointment that the traveler is said to have acknowledged with the expression: then this is probably Faulendorf ... (Low German: Fuhlendbody).

Michaelsdorf

Michaelsdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1302. The place Michaelsdorf was incorporated into Fuhlendorf in 1960. In the TV series Weissensee, "Michaelsdorf" is a place on the Baltic Sea in which the Stasi maintains an object in which conspiratorial meetings can be held or people are hidden from the public. It is not known to what extent there is a real reference to this.

Bodstedt

Around 1500, the Bodstedt district was one of the most important pilgrimage sites for seafarers on the Baltic Sea . The St. Ewalds Church in Bodstedt also dates from this time . A flood mark from 1872 can be found on the late Gothic building.

During the GDR era, many company holiday camps for the children of the employees were concentrated in Bodstedt . These were z. B. Fiko Rostock (Fischkombinat), Center-Warenhaus Rostock, RWN Gützkow, Margarinewerk Magdeburg, NDPD-Lager Berlin, Robotron Dresden, ESDA-Strumpfwerke Thalheim, for example in 1965 the VEB "Baukombinat Altmark Stendal" (BKA) built a holiday camp, which then the German post had taken the 1975th After 1990 almost all camps were abandoned to decay or immediately cleared.

Bodstedt was incorporated into Fuhlendorf in 1974.

The characteristic of Bodstedt is the Zeesenbootregatta, which has been held since 1964. The founder was Eckehard Rammin from Bodstedt, who then founded a boatyard in Barth. In 2014, the 50th regatta was held from September 5th to 7th. 54 Zeesboats took part (50 was the target). A highlight was the inauguration of the new port with berths for Zees boats, a marina for leisure boats and jetties for passenger ships.

Good luck

The place is a small street village. There was at DDR -times the operating camps of ASMW Berlin ( Office of standardization, metrology and product testing of Ministers of the GDR). It was one of the most modern camps at the time and was further expanded as a recreational property after the fall of the Wall.

Coat of arms, flag, official seal

The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag . The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the region of Western Pomerania . It shows an upright griffin with a raised tail and the inscription "GEMEINDE FUHLENDORF - LANDKREIS VORPOMMERN-RÜGEN".
