The Copa del Generalísimo 1960/61 was the 57th edition of the Spanish soccer cup competition , which takes place today under the name Copa del Rey .
The competition started on October 12, 1960 and ended with the final on July 2, 1961 at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid . The defending champion of the cup competition was Atlético Madrid . Atlético Madrid won the title again with a 3-2 win in the new edition of last year's final against city rivals Real Madrid .
