DFB Cup 1992/93
DFB Cup winner in 1993 was Bayer 04 Leverkusen that against the amateur team of Hertha BSC , won the second round in the defending Hannover 96 had turned off. For Leverkusen it is the only national title to date. In the subsequent European Cup Winners' Cup , Leverkusen was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Portuguese cup winners Benfica Lisbon due to the away goals rule .

The following 83 teams qualified for the cup competition:
1 OT Bremen started as a defeated Bremen Cup finalist, as cup winners Werder Bremen (A) qualified via the amateur championship.
2 TuS Hoppstädten took second place on the grid as a defeated cup finalist.
3 SV Wehen took second place on the grid as a defeated cup finalist.
4th VfR Aalen took second place on the grid as a defeated cup finalist.
5 The place of cup winner SSV Ulm 1846, who qualified through the amateur championship, was taken by his semi-final opponent VfR Heilbronn.
