The rather small district of Friedersdorf, which no longer has its own district and consists almost exclusively of the historic center, belongs to the statistical district of Weixdorf. West of the town center, which is at an altitude of about 195  m above sea level. NN , there are several ponds, such as the Upper and Lower Middle Pond , the Mill Pond and the Large Pond . The Weixdorf forest pool is located on the latter .

history

Friedersdorf was first mentioned as Fridrichstorff in 1378, at the same time as Weixdorf . This name, which comes from the German language, means Friedrich's village and goes back to a locator . In 1554 the place appears as Friederßdorff and finally in 1875 as Friedersdorf bei Radeberg in order to distinguish it from the places of the same name that are more common in Central Germany . In the town center, which was laid out as a forest hoof village on the east side of the wet valley basin of the Lausenbach , several historical buildings have been preserved to this day.

During its entire history, Weixdorf was administratively part of the office or the administrative authority of Dresden . It was parish to Lausa. In 1556, Christoph von Carlowitz , the owner of the Hermsdorfer Rittergut , acquired an estate in Friedersdorf, where a Vorwerk is also mentioned in 1618 . From 1696 this manor exercised the manorial rule until the 19th century. Today's Sauerbusch was the Hermsdorfer Rittergutswald. Friedersdorf was incorporated into Lausa as early as 1879 and from then on shared its history. It has belonged to Dresden since January 1st, 1999.
