Fritz Fend, technical manufacturing company was a German manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Fritz Fend founded a manufacturing company in Rosenheim in 1946 . The production of small vehicles began on June 19, 1948 - initially without an engine - which were intended in particular for the disabled. Shortly afterwards, experiments with motor vehicles began. In 1949 the first model was exhibited at a technical fair in Frankfurt am Main . The brand name was Fend . At the end of 1951, Fend and a few partners founded Fend Motor Vehicle GmbH in Munich , which was dissolved shortly afterwards. In December 1951, production of the only car model ended. In 1952 he signed a contract with Willy Messerschmitt from Messerschmitt AG . Fend further developed the vehicle, which came on the market in March 1953 as the Messerschmitt cabin scooter .

vehicles

Fend manufactured mini cars with three wheels. The only motorized vehicle was the Fend runabout . A total of around 282 vehicles were built. Another source cites 250 new registrations for 1951 in Germany, but no figures for 1950 and 1952.
