Fulton County is a county in the state of Ohio in the United States . The county seat is Wauseon .
geography
The county is located almost in the extreme northwest of Ohio, borders Michigan to the north and has an area of 1045 square kilometers, of which one square kilometer is water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Lenawee County, Michigan, Lucas County , Henry County , Williams County, and Hillsdale County, Michigan.
history
Fulton County was formed on February 20, 1850 from parts of Henry, Lucas and Williams Counties. It was named after Robert Fulton , a North American engineer who built the first usable steamships and the Nautilus submarine .
Six buildings and sites in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (as of April 13, 2018).

According to the 2000 census , Fulton County had 42,084 people in 15,480 households and 11,687 families. The population density was 40 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 95.65 percent white, 0.24 percent African American, 0.26 percent Native American, 0.42 percent Asian, 0.04 percent of residents from the Pacific island area and 2.31 percent from other ethnic groups Groups; 1.08 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 5.76 percent of the population.
Of the 15,480 households, 37.1 percent had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 63.2 percent were married couples living together, 8.2 percent were single mothers, 24.5 percent were non-families, 21.1 percent were single households and 9.4 percent had people aged 65 years or over. The average household size was 2.69 and the average family size was 3.13.
For the entire county, the population was composed of 28.3 percent of residents under 18 years of age, 7.7 percent between 18 and 24 years of age, 28.7 percent between 25 and 44 years of age, 22.6 percent between 45 and 64 years of age 12.7 percent were 65 years of age or over. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 95.6 males. For every 100 women aged 18 or over there were statistically 93.3 men.
The median income for a household in the city was $ 44,074 , and the median income for a family was $ 50,952. Males had a median income of $ 36,180 versus $ 25,137 for females. The per capita income was $ 18,999. 4.0 percent of families and 5.4 percent of the population were below the poverty line. Of these, 6.1 percent were children or adolescents under 18 years of age and 4.6 percent were people over 65 years of age.
