Handball Bundesliga 2008/09

The Handball Bundesliga 2009/10 (full name after the main sponsor Toyota Handball Bundesliga 2009/10 ) was the 32nd of the single-track seasons and the 44th season of the highest German division in men's handball in the history of the Bundesliga . The season began on September 2, 2009 and ended with the last game day on June 5, 2010.

18 teams played for the German championship. The first in the table on the last day of the game is German champions 2010. New season promoters were TuS N-Lübbecke , TSV Hannover-Burgdorf and HSG Düsseldorf . In addition, the DHB Cup was played for the 36th time.

The German champions in 2009 were the THW Kiel team for the 16th time in the club's history .

HSG Düsseldorf and GWD Minden had to relegate from the Bundesliga to the 2nd Bundesliga .

In 306 games, a total of 17,328 goals (average 56.6 per game) were scored, around 2.6 fewer goals than in the 2008/09 season . There were 173 home wins, 17 draws and 116 away wins. The highest home win was recorded by THW Kiel on matchday 14 with 41:22 against TSV Hannover-Burgdorf . The highest away win was achieved by the SG Flensburg-Handewitt team on matchday 32 with 22:40 at GWD Minden . The game with the highest number of goals took place on matchday 16 between HBW Balingen-Weilstetten and THW Kiel and ended 39:37. That was 19 goals more than the overall average. Three clubs were at the top of the table during the season: VfL Gummersbach (2 ×), THW Kiel (14 ×) and HSV Hamburg (18 ×). The top scorer was Hans Lindberg from HSV Hamburg with 251/132 goals .

The DHB Cup, which was played for the 36th time, was won by the HSV Hamburg team .

Seven German teams also competed in European competitions. The THW Kiel could EHF Champions League 2009/10 decide for itself the VfL Gummersbach secured the EHF European Cup Winners' Cup 2009/10 and the TBV Lemgo won the 2009-10 EHF Cup . This was the second time that all three European cups went to Germany after the 2006/07 season.

DHB Cup

The HSV Hamburg team won the 2009/10 DHB Cup . In the final on April 11, 2010 in the Color Line Arena in Hamburg in front of 13,200 spectators, she defeated the Rhein-Neckar Löwen team with 34:33 a.m.
