The HipHop Open was a hip-hop event organized by 0711 Entertainment and Four Artists in Stuttgart from 2000 to 2015. It was one of the largest hip-hop festivals in Europe.

history

The festival took place for the first time in 2000 with the help of MTV on the grounds of the new Stuttgart theater on the Pragsattel . After a detour in 2001 to the Gazi Stadium on the Waldau due to construction work, it finally found its local home in the following year in the riding stadium at Cannstatter Wasen ( Neckar Park ), where it has taken place almost annually in July since then.

Due to the decline in visitors in 2008, the festival moved to Mannheim in 2009 . The "MTV HipHop Open Minded", the new name, should focus more on artists who have their roots in Hip Hop, but who have developed into other musical genres in the course of their careers. The festival did not take place in the following two years. After MTV withdrew as a presenter, the event was again held in 2012 under the name “Mixery HipHop Open” in the riding stadium at Cannstatter Wasen in Stuttgart.

The HipHop Open took place for the last time in 2015. According to the organizers, the "steadily rising costs" were decisive.
