List of brick Gothic buildings in Belgium
The list of brick buildings of the Gothic in Belgium is part of the list of brick buildings of the Gothic , a compilation of buildings of the brick Gothic and southern European Gothic brick styles as complete as possible . The only buildings included are those on which the brick appears somewhere or, in the case of muddy surfaces, at least the brick structure of the masonry is recognizable.
In the Spanish Netherlands , i.e. today's Belgium, the Gothic style apparently faded away more slowly than in other regions. Since elsewhere there is a sharper distinction between Gothic and Post-Gothic , the limit in this list was set at 1625.
Scope:
A total of 226 Gothic brick buildings and groups of buildings were found in Belgium. Groups here are several similar structures in one place, e.g. B. Town houses, which are summarized in a table row.
Background information from public databases:
- OE = Inventory O nroerend E rfgoed - detailed descriptions in the inventory of the immovable inheritance
- BC = B iens c lassés et Zones de protection
