List of tallest structures in Austria
This table lists the tallest structures in Austria , namely buildings and other rigid structures .
overview
For a long time the tallest building in Austria was St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, one of which, built in 1433, reached 137 meters. From the First World War higher radio transmission masts were gradually built until the US military station Kronstorf in Upper Austria was built in 1952 as the tallest structure ever erected in Austria, and at the same time the tallest transmission mast in Europe. He moved - shortened by a few meters - to the Bisamberg near Vienna in 1956 . After it was dismantled in 2010, the Danube Tower in Vienna, which was built in 1964 , has been the tallest structure since its construction and the tallest building in Austria since its construction.

Remarks:
- ↑ a b c d e In the list, for the purpose of historical development, only the first wind power plant with a rotor tip height of 100 m or Hub height and the first representative of the subsequent higher generation of a wind turbine z. B. (2014, Munderfing Upper Austria): 140 m towers with 196 meters moving maximum height, relevant as an aviation obstacle.
- ↑ a b c d Moved from Kronstorf to the Bisamberg, adjusted the height there. Kronstorf was the highest transmission mast in Europe in its time.
- ↑ a b c The Bisamberg plant is located on the municipal border between Vienna and Langenzersdorf Lower Austria, the transmitters were located in Vienna.
- ↑ The Danube Tower has been Austria's tallest structure since 2010.
- ↑ The wheels of the Munderfing wind farm have been set up, but not yet connected to the grid in summer 2014
- ↑ a b c Voitsberg power plant shut down in 2006, has been dismantled since 2013. Slight sagging and inclination of the tower August 5, 2015, demolition and fall August 8, 2015. Until then it was the (ever) tallest building in Styria. The boiler house was blown up on November 8, 2015, 3:30 p.m., the staircase fell.
- ↑ The current exhibition tower of Messe Wien is a structural reminiscence.
- ^ A b transmitter Wilhelminenberg was radio red-white-red ; Plant then moved to the Pfaffenwald.
- ↑ The Peisching coal-fired power station was shut down in 2009.
- ↑ Zwentendorf never went into operation.
- ↑ The chimney of the Glanzstoffwerke was the highest brick chimney in Austria until it was demolished. Reduction after lightning damage.
- ↑ Commissioning of the Haindorf wind farm Aug. 2000, Oct. 2000 the Bruck an der Leitha wind farm in Wilfleinsdorf, Lower Austria, went online with 5 wheels of the same height.
