Nussbach is a municipality in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Lauterecken-Wolfstein association.
geography
The place is located on the Nussbach of the same name in the North Palatinate Uplands . Reipoltskirchen is in the northwest , Teschenmoschel in the east, Rathskirchen in the southeast and Hefersweiler to the southwest .
history
Nussbach was first mentioned in a document in 1309. It belonged to the Rhinegrave until 1553 as part of a land swap to the Upper Rhine Circle belonging rich direct rule Reipoltskirchen arrived.

Municipal council
The municipal council in Nussbach consists of twelve council members, who were elected by a majority vote in the local elections on May 26, 2019 , and the honorary local mayor as chairman.

Ronald Schwarz became the local mayor of Nussbach in July 2019. In the direct election on May 26, 2019, he was elected for five years with 80.30% of the vote. His predecessor Werner Pries had held the office for 20 years.
coat of arms
The blazon of the coat of arms reads: “Divided by red and green by a silver oblique left-hand wave bar, a golden bell tower above, a golden hazelnut branch with two hazelnuts and a leaf below.” It was approved in 1985 by the Neustadt district government .
Culture and sights
The Old World Museum is located in Nussbach and includes a loom from the 18th century.
