Nissan EXA (1986-1990)

The Nissan EXA (in some markets initially Pulsar EXA , Pulsar NX or just NX ) is a sports coupé from the Japanese car manufacturer Nissan, sold in two generations from 1982 to 1990, mainly in Japan and the USA . The EXA was based on the Nissan Sunny of the B11 and B12 series and was replaced by the Nissan 100NX .

In both cases it was a front-wheel drive notchback coupe with pop-up headlights.

The first generation was offered from 1982 to 1986 and was powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder or a 1.5-liter turbo engine.

The successor appeared in the fall of 1986 with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with two overhead camshafts and 88.5 kW (120 hp), in the USA also with 1.8 liters and 93 kW (127 hp) and in a basic version with a 1.5 liter OHC . The vehicles of the second generation had various roof attachments to turn the notchback coupé into a sports station wagon ("EXA Canopy").
