- The German-Austrian engineer Fritz Pfleumer developed a method for magnetic recording of audio signals and applied for a patent. The prototype of his recorder can record around an hour of sound on 900 meters of magnetic tape.

- January 1st - The Dutch radio broadcaster Algemene Vereniging Radio Omroep starts operations.
- May - The Prussian Ministry of Culture founds the radio test center in Berlin to research the technical and artistic possibilities of the new medium.

- April 24th - Erwin Kopp , German actor, radio play speaker and theater director dies at the age of 50 in his native Berlin . From 1925 to the end of 1927 he was active as a speaker in at least 60 radio play productions at Funk-Hour Berlin .
- May 19 - Charlotte Basté , German actress and radio play speaker , dies in Dresden at the age of 60 . She worked as a spokesperson for Mitteldeutsche Rundfunk AG in a number of broadcast games that was not exactly determinable.
