Sancy is a French commune with 318 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Briey and the Canton of Pays de Briey (until 2015: Canton of Audun-le-Roman ).

geography

Sancy is 13 kilometers north of Briey and about 20 kilometers west of Thionville on the border with the Moselle department . The community consists of the community parts Sancy Haut on an elongated mountain spur and Sancy Bas and the hamlets of Bazonville and La Gare .

Neighboring communities of Sancy are Beuvillers in the north, Boulange in the northeast, Fontoy in the east, Lommerange in the southeast, Trieux in the south, Anderny in the southwest and Audun-le-Roman in the northwest.
