The Scottish Football League Division One was played for the 32nd time in 1924/25 . It was also the 35th edition of the top soccer division within the Scottish Football League in which the Scottish champions were determined. It began on August 16, 1924 and ended on April 25, 1925. In the 1924/25 season, 20 clubs competed against each other in a total of 38 matchdays. Each team played once at home and away against every other team. The 2-point rule applied . In the event of a tie, the goal quotient counted .
The championship won for the 14th time in their club history, the Glasgow Rangers . Ayr United and Third Lanark were relegated to Division Two at the end of the season . The top scorer was William Devlin from FC Cowdenbeath with 33 goals .
