AeroLogic is a German cargo airline based in Schkeuditz and based at Leipzig / Halle Airport . It is a joint venture between DHL and Lufthansa Cargo .
history
AeroLogic emerged from a joint venture between DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo that had existed since 2004. As the legal framework for the planning phase nameless or only as NewCo ( new corporation , dt .: "New Company") designated airline was the on 12 September 2007 shelf company Blitz 07-343 GmbH into the commercial register on this day. On January 9, 2008, the name was changed to Aerologic GmbH , which was officially announced on January 28. To hold the company DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo each hold 50 percent.
On May 26, 2009, the Federal Aviation Office granted AeroLogic an operating license for the transport of mail and cargo in commercial traffic after having previously licensed the first Boeing 777 registered in Germany for the cargo airline . AeroLogic started official flight operations on June 19, 2009.
A total of eight brand-new Boeing 777Fs were ordered for the start of operations, all of which are owned by a leasing company . The first machine of this type with the aircraft registration D-AALA was delivered three months late. It arrived at Leipzig / Halle Airport on May 13, 2009 at 3:24 pm and took off on its first commercial flight on June 29. On April 7, 2020, the last Boeing 777F with the aircraft registration D-AALO was delivered.
Destinations
AeroLogic mainly operates long-haul cargo flights from its two hubs , but also from Cologne / Bonn Airport, on behalf of the two parent companies DHL and Lufthansa Cargo . The destinations are in Asia , Europe and North America . The fleet flies for DHL Express on working days and the Lufthansa Cargo fleet is available on weekends.
