The Costa Del Sol Classic 1984 was a one-time snooker invitation tournament held as part of the 1984/85 season . It was held from August 20 to 23, 1984 in the Hotel Las Palmeras in Fuengirola, Spain, on the Costa del Sol . The winner was the Northern Irishman Dennis Taylor , who defeated the Englishman Mike Hallett 5-2 in the final of the only average tournament .

The Northern Irishman Dennis Taylor got off to a better start in the final and took a 2-0 lead before Englishman Mike Hallett equalized to 2-2. But with two more +50 breaks, Taylor made it through to a 5-2 victory.
