English national cricket team in Pakistan in the 2000/01 season

The tour of the English cricket team to Pakistan in the 2000/01 season took place from 20 October to 7 December 2000th The international cricket tour was part of the 2000/01 international cricket season and included three test matches and three ODIs . England won the Test series 1-0 while Pakistan won the ODI series 2-1.

prehistory

Both teams previously played at the ICC KnockOut 2000 , with England eliminated in the quarter-finals and Pakistan in the semi-finals. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in England in the 1996 season . It was the first time since the 1987/88 season that England toured Pakistan. Originally the third ODI was supposed to take place in Peshawar , which England refused for safety reasons.

In the game there were clashes between the Englishman Andy Caddick and the referee Sajjad Asghar from Pakistan. Newspapers reported that there had been insults, but Caddick denied it and the referee failed to file a report, thus avoiding a misconduct penalty.
