Football Association Cup 2013/14

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The participants of the 21 national associations of the DFB in the DFB-Pokal 2014/15 are determined via the Football Association Cup 2013/14 . The winners of the association cups were entitled to participate in the first round of the DFB Cup. The three associations with the largest number of members, Bavaria, Lower Saxony and Westphalia, also sent a second participant. Thus 24 amateur clubs qualified for the national cup competition, 23 of them via the association cups. The second teams of the professional clubs (1st and 2nd Bundesliga) were not allowed to participate in the DFB Cup.

In Lower Saxony and Westphalia, in addition to the cup winners, the defeated cup finalists qualify for the DFB Cup, in Bavaria the best team of the 2013/14 regional league season - provided they were not the second team of a professional club - also qualifies for the first in addition to the winner of the association cup Main round of the DFB Cup.
