The Hirzel is a Swiss pass in the foothills of the cantons of Zurich and Zug , which connects Wädenswil and Sihlbrugg .

The top of the pass (672 m) is on the outskirts of Hirzel in the municipality of Horgen . The culmination point is at 682 m north of the village.

The Zugerstrasse from Horgen via the Hanegg and Hirzelpass to Sihlbrugg was built between 1839 and 1846. This road replaced the previous Gotthard trade route with the mule track over the Hirzel Höhi . It lost its 600-year function as a supra-regional and regional connection.
