List of number one hits in Germany (2013)
This is a list of the number one hits in Germany in 2013. The single and album charts were compiled by Media Control on a weekly basis. They took into account both download purchases and sales of sound carriers (the vast majority of them CDs ). The evaluation period was Friday through Thursday of the following week. On the following Tuesday, the charts were first announced for the music industry, with the official publication taking place on the following Friday.
The year 2013 was characterized by frequent changes, especially at the top of the album charts. With 40 different number one albums, the record of 33 albums set two years earlier was once again exceeded by far. 17 number one songs are also a high value by German standards, but still a long way off from the 23 top titles of 2003.
The German airplay charts commissioned by the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (Federal Association of the Music Industry) comprise 200 items and, with 450 stations, represent a representative illustration of music usage on radio in the Federal Republic of Germany. MusicDNA is responsible for the broadcast monitoring service . To determine the ranking, the missions are weighted with points based on the range of the radio stations considered. Often the number of missions is also indicated in the airplay chart.
Media Control created the first German streaming charts in May 2012 (Top 20).
