List of steam storage locomotives in Germany

This list of steam storage locomotives in Germany does not claim to be complete. It is quite possible that individual vehicles are listed here as memorials , which were then scrapped. It is also possible that some of the operational locomotives have been parked. The list includes all gauges . Since the majority of the locomotives were manufactured in standard gauge , the different gauge in two cases is given in the "Comments" column.

The locations of the vehicles are listed because steam storage locomotives were not mainline locomotives, but were procured from industrial companies as shunting locomotives and are now mostly inoperable as a monument. In addition, there has never been a designation system based on series for all operators of steam storage locomotives, which is why the individual locomotives are listed according to manufacturer, serial number and wheel arrangement. The wheel alignment is provided with the abbreviation "-fl" for fire-free .
