Steene , West Flemish : Stene , is a municipality in French Flanders . It belongs to the Hauts-de-France region , the Nord department , the Dunkerque arrondissement and the Coudekerque-Branche canton . The residents call themselves Steenois . The neighboring communities are Spycker in the north-west, Armbouts-Cappel in the north, Bierne in the east, Crochte and Socx in the south-east and Pitgam in the south-west. The hamlet of Grand-Millebrugghe is located near the border to Armbouts-Cappel.
