It is located in the northeast of Radevormwald directly on the city limits to Breckerfeld near the Ennepetalsperre . The neighboring towns are called Braake and Siepen . The place can be reached via a spur road that  branches off from the district road 10 and leads via Siepen.

Beck was first mentioned in a document in 1469, when Duke Gerhard von Jülich-Berg gave Rutger Haken Mahlzwang for “22 houses near Radevormwald”. The spelling for the first mention was "Beke".
