Branne is a French village with 1,288 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Gironde department in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Libourne and the canton Les Coteaux de Dordogne (until 2015: Canton Branne ). The inhabitants are called Brannais .
geography
Branne is about 35 kilometers east of Bordeaux on the Dordogne . Branne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Sulpice-de-Faleyrens in the north, Cabara in the east, Saint-Aubin-de-Branne in the south and south-east, Lugaignac in the south and south-west and Grézillac in the west and south-west.
The former route nationale 136 (today's D936) runs through the municipality .
