Charette is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Parmilieu in the north, Porcieu-Amblagnieu in the northeast, Montalieu-Vercieu in the east, Bouvesse-Quirieu in the southeast, Courtenay in the south and southeast and Saint-Baudille-de-la-Tour in the south and west.
