Clonas-sur-Varèze is located about 13 kilometers south-southwest of Vienne . The Varèze forms the northern municipal boundary. Clonas-sur-Varèze is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Clair-du-Rhône in the north and north-west, Saint-Prim in the north, Auberives-sur-Varèze in the east and north-east, Roussillon in the south-east, and Saint-Maurice-l'Exil in the South and Saint-Alban-du-Rhône in the west.
