Faramans is a French commune with 1,038 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Faramans belongs administratively to the Arrondissement Vienne and is part of the canton Bièvre (until 2015: canton La Côte-Saint-André ). The community belongs to the Communauté de communes Bièvre Isère . The inhabitants are called Faramantois .

Faramans is 35 kilometers southeast of Lyon . Faramans is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bossieu in the north, Penol in the east and south-east, Pajay in the south and Pommier-de-Beaurepaire in the west and north-west.
