Valencin is located 21 kilometers southeast of Lyon . Valencin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Pierre-de-Chandieu in the north, Heyrieux in the east and northeast, Diémoz in the east and southeast, Saint-Georges-d'Espéranche in the southeast, Saint-Just-Chaleyssin in the south and southwest and Chaponnay in the West.
