Sardieu is a French commune with 1,124 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Sardieu belongs administratively to the Arrondissement Vienne and is part of the canton Bièvre (until 2015: canton La Côte-Saint-André ). The community belongs to the Communauté de communes Bièvre Isère . The inhabitants are called Pajaytois .

Sardieu is about 31 kilometers southeast of Vienne . Sardieu is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ornacieux-Balbins with Balbins in the north, La Côte-Saint-André in the east and northeast, Saint-Siméon-de-Bressieux in the southeast, Châtenay in the south, Marcilloles in the west and southwest and Penol in the west and northwest .
