geography
Vernioz is about ten kilometers south of Vienne . The Varèze limits the municipality to the south. Vernioz is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Les Côtes-d'Arey in the north, Chalon in the northeast, Monsteroux-Milieu in the east, Assieu in the south and Cheyssieu in the west.
