Gillonnay is a French commune with 1,012 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Gillonnay belongs administratively to the Arrondissement Vienne and is part of the canton Bièvre (until 2015: canton La Côte-Saint-André ). Gillonnay is 35 kilometers southeast of Vienne . Gillonnay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mottier in the north, Saint-Hilaire-de-la-Côte in the east, Brézins in the south and La Côte-Saint-André in the west.
A small part of Grenoble Airport is in the southeast of the municipality.
