Saint-Étienne-de-Saint- Geoirs is a French commune with 3,225 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Vienne and the canton of Bièvre . The inhabitants are called Mandrinois or Stéphanois .

Saint-Étienne-de-Saint-Geoirs is located about 40 kilometers north-west of Grenoble , at the foot of the Chartreuse massif . Saint-Étienne-de-Saint-Geoirs is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Hilaire-de-la-Côte in the north and north-west, La Frette in the north and north-east, Sillans in the east, Plan in the south-east, Saint-Geoirs in the south, and Saint -Pierre-de-Bressieux in the southwest and Brézins in the west.
Most of Grenoble Airport is located in the municipality . The former national route 518 and 519 (today's D119) run through the municipality .
