Saint-Étienne-de-Saint-Geoirs is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Hilaire-de-la-Côte in the north and north-west, La Frette in the north and north-east, Sillans in the east, Plan in the south-east, Saint-Geoirs in the south, and Saint -Pierre-de-Bressieux in the southwest and Brézins in the west.
