Chasse-sur-Rhône is a French commune with 6,048 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Isère department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Vienne and the canton of Vienne-1 . The inhabitants are called Chassères .
geography
The municipality is located around 20 kilometers south of Lyon on the left bank of the Rhone in the Dauphiné region . Chasse-sur-Rhône is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ternay in the north, Communay in the north-east, Seyssuel in the south-east, Loire-sur-Rhône in the south and south-west and Givors in the west and north-west.
The A7 autoroute runs through the municipality, and the motorway junction with the A47 autoroute is located just north of the municipal boundary .

The former medieval parish church of Saint-Martin from the 15th century, which was in a ruinous state after the French Revolution , was bought out of the United States and moved there in the 1920s . It is now the Chapel of St Joan of Arc in Milwaukee .
Community partnerships
A partnership has existed with the Armenian municipality of Nor-Hadjin since 1998 and since 2003 with the Italian municipality of Campobello di Licata in the province of Agrigento in Sicily.
