Bellegarde-Poussieu is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montserveroux in the north and north-east, Moissieu-sur-Dolon in the east, Pact in the south-east, Jarcieu in the south, Sonnay in the west and south-west and La Chapelle-de-Surieu in the west and north-west.
