Reventin-Vaugris is a French commune with 1,909 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Vienne arrondissement and the Vienne-2 canton (until 2015: Vienne-Sud canton ) and the Pays Viennois municipal association . The inhabitants are called Reventinois .
geography
Reventin-Vaugris is located in the Dauphiné region on the Rhone , which forms the northwestern municipal boundary. Reventin-Vaugris is surrounded by the neighboring communities Ampuis in the north and north-west, Vienne in the north and north-east, Les Côtes-d'Arey in the south and east, Saint-Prim in the south and south-west, Chonas-l'Amballan in the west and south-west and Tupin -et semons in the west.
Autoroute A7 and Route nationale 7 run through the municipality .
history
In 1847 the community was formed from the merger of the independent communities Reventin and Vaugris .
