Grenay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Laurent-de-Mure in the north and west, Satolas-et-Bonce in the northeast, Saint-Quentin-Fallavier in the east and south, Heyrieux in the south and Saint-Pierre-de-Chandieu in the southwest.
