Châtenay is a French municipality with 440 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement Vienne and the canton Bièvre (until 2015: canton Roybon ). The inhabitants are called Chatenois .

geography

Châtenay is about 29 kilometers southeast of Vienne . Châtenay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sardieu in the north, Saint-Siméon-de-Bressieux in the east, Marnans in the south and Viriville in the west.
