Plan is a French municipality with 261 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; administratively it belongs to the arrondissement Vienne and is part of the canton Bièvre (until 2015: canton Saint-Étienne-de-Saint-Geoirs ).

Plan is located about 29 kilometers northwest of Grenoble at the foot of the Chartreuse massif . Plan is surrounded by the neighboring communities Sillans in the north, Izeaux in the northeast, Saint-Paul-d'Izeaux in the east, La Forteresse in the south, Saint-Geoirs in the west and Saint-Étienne-de-Saint-Geoirs in the northwest.
