Diémoz is located 27 kilometers southeast of Lyon . Diémoz is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Heyrieux in the north and north-west of Saint-Quentin-Fallavier in the north and north-east, Bonnefamilie in the east, Saint-Georges-d'Espéranche in the south and Valencin in the west and north-west.
The former National Route 518 runs through the municipality .
