Ornacieux-Balbins is a French municipality with 844 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Vienne and the canton of Bièvre .
It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2019 through the amalgamation of the previous communities Ornacieux and Balbins , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Ornacieux.

geography
The community is located around 30 kilometers southeast of Vienne , on a small ridge south of the Forêt de Bonnevaux forest . Neighboring communities are:
- Porte-des-Bonnevaux with the villages of Arzay , Semons and Commelle in the north,
- La Côte-Saint-André in the west,
- Sardieu in the south,
- Penol and Bossieu to the west.
