Luzinay is located around 21 kilometers south-southeast of Lyon on the Sévenne . Luzinay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chaponnay in the north, Saint-Just-Chaleyssin in the east, Septème in the southeast, Serpaize in the southwest and Villette-de-Vienne in the west.
