Primarette is a French municipality with 720 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement Vienne and the canton of Roussillon (until 2015: canton of Beaurepaire ).

Primarette is 42 kilometers south-southeast of Lyon . The Dolon limits the community in the south. Primarette is surrounded by the neighboring communities Cour-et-Buis in the north, Saint-Julien-de-l'Herms in the north-east, Pisieu in the east and south-east, Revel-Tourdan in the south, Moissieu-sur-Dolon in the west and south-west and Montseveroux in the West and northwest.
