Septème is about 26 kilometers south-southeast of Lyon and about twelve kilometers east-northeast of Vienne . Septème is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Luzinay in the north and northwest, Saint-Just-Chaleyssin in the east and northeast, Oytier-Saint-Oblas in the east, Moidieu-Détourbe in the south and southeast, Estrablin in the south and southwest, Pont-Évêque in the west and Southwest and Serpaize in the west and northwest.
