NUTS: AT
NUTS: AT is the code of the nomenclature des unités territoriales statistiques (German: "Systematics of Territorial Units for Statistics", abbreviated NUTS ) of the official statistics of the European Union for Austria .
NUTS levels
According to the regional structure, Austria is divided into the following NUTS levels:
- 3 NUTS 1 regions: groups of federal states (statistical regions of the European Communities)
 - 9 NUTS 2 regions: Basic administrative units of the federal states ( internal administrative structure of Austria)
 - 35 NUTS 3 regions: groups of municipalities, groups of districts ( political districts , occasionally just one of the same, sometimes also judicial districts , or pure statistical regions of Statistics Austria / European Communities)
 - 2095 LAU regions: municipalities
 
This structure forms the basis for regional statistical analysis and regional funding within the EU.
